Is Kenyon Martin being picked on?  Not if you ask Byron Scott or Rod Thorn of the Nets.

When Thorn was asked whether Martin was guilty of a flagrant foul he said, "Uhh ... yes.  Did you see the tape?"  Thorn added, "You don't use your arms as an ax. You don't run over people where everybody in the place can see you. You have to think about the team. Think what's at stake."

Flip Bondy of the New York Daily News reports that Martin is an intense player, but opponents can get under his skin too easily.  He says that rationally, Martin understands this cannot go on. Then, the games start and he checks his brain synapses at the scorer's table.

It was an uncalled, nuanced elbow from Jalen Rose that set off his latest tantrum, a retaliatory forearm to Eddy Curry right in front of referee Greg Willard.

Martin is now playing with six points on his NBA license, and every flagrant violation will result in yet another suspension.
