They're all talking about the game that became the highest scoring in NBA history at the time ? March 6, 1982. It was the triple-overtime shootout between the San Antonio Spurs and Milwaukee Bucks at the HemisFair Arena.

"Nobody forgets that game," says Wayne Witt, the Spurs' director of media relations at the time.

Witt recalls these curious sensations during the Spurs' 171-166 victory.

"The air seemed to be sucked out of the building every time the Bucks did something, like a giant inhaling," Witt says. "Then it would be exhaled in a roar when the Spurs came back and did something."

And there were plenty of somethings.
