When Portland played at Dallas on Dec. 11, DallasBasketball.com got its hands on a copy of the thumbnail scouting report the Mavs coaching staff prepared for the players. As the Mavs get ready for a challenge in taking on the hot Blazers in Portland on Thursday, we get you ready with a glimpse of who?s who on the Portland roster ? according to the Mavs scouting report itself:
RASHEED WALLACE Takes most of his shots on post-ups, spot-ups and in transition (where he runs well and looks to receive lob pass). ? a good shooter with 3-point range who can simply be allowed no open looks. ? Has offensive skills similar to those of Dirk Nowitzki. ? likes to go right; if he goes left, he?ll dribble only once before pulling up for the jumper. ? must be blocked out and denied position on boards. ? has temper that can hurt his game.

BONZI WELLS Guard/forward is very, very aggressive on both ends and has become Portland?s best player. ? Likes to go left, but fights his way into position. ? A very good offensive rebounder for his size. ? Likes step-back jumper, especially when going left.

DAMON STOUDAMIRE Point guard who is very good at the pick-and-roll. ? Outstanding quickness who can drive both ways and has great range. ? Dangerous on the drive, and note that he is left-handed....
