If it seems as if the Kings establish a franchise record every time they step onto the court these days, it's because they do.

They completed what likely was the unthinkable -- a sweep of their six-game road trip -- with a sometimes awesome, sometimes shaky 117-109 victory over the Utah Jazz on Friday night at the Delta Center.

Then again, it was an unthinkable night because Utah's Karl Malone missed only his fifth game because of injury in his 17-year career. He had swelling in his right knee.

"This is the first time I've ever seen a game played in Utah without Karl Malone," said Malone's usual Kings adversary, Chris Webber. "It didn't seem right."
