As a reward for his hard work, Robinson was allowed to spend the entire second half lounging comfortably in what proved to be a relatively relaxing 87-79 win over the Nuggets in front of 19,893 at the Alamodome.
The Spurs' 12th consecutive home victory moved them again within half a game of Dallas for the Midwest Division lead.
"I just tried to get away with resting him and giving him a break," Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said. "He hasn't really had a rest all year long. Usually we try to do that down the stretch. This was a good opportunity."
Robinson, who contributed 11 points, five rebounds and five steals in 18 first-half minutes, wasn't the only starter to kick up his feet.
