Heading into the game in Orlando against the Magic the New Jersey Nets knew that if they were to be treated seriously in this playoff campaign that they needed to re-establish a presence on the road.  The Nets had won two of their previous twelve games on the road, so what better time to turn their fortunes around than in the match up between two MVP hopefuls; Jason Kidd of the New Jersey Nets and Tracy McGrady of the Orlando Magic.

Tracy McGrady scored 39 points for his Magic, but in the end the hero was Kenyon Martin, who in overtime blocked McGrady?s game-tying lay up attempt.

"I hate losing; I love winning," Martin said. "I was in the right place at the right time. It was big, not only for me, but as a team aspect.  I thought they were going to call goaltending, because with me strange things have happened."

As Liz Robbins of the New York Times reports the win was of particular importance to the Nets, setting the scene for the team to potentially clinch the Eastern Conference should Detroit lose at home to San Antonio on Friday night.

"It was probably one of our biggest wins of the year," added Keith Van Horn.  "Just being on the road, going into the playoffs, it meant a lot to get this win tonight."
