The (AP) reports: The Orlando Magic, who have lost three straight games and are battling for fourth place in the Eastern Conference, placed guard-forward Mike Miller on the injured list Tuesday with a sprained left ankle.

Miller played just 26 minutes, scoring eight points, in Sunday's 95-89 home loss to the Philadelphia 76ers. He has played in 63 games, starting 53, and is averaging 15.2 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.1 assists. Orlando's best outside shooter, Miller has connected on 38 percent (116-of-303) of his attempts from 3-point range.

The 6-8 Miller was named Rookie of the Year last season after averaging 11.9 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 82 games.

Orlando (43-37) is one-half game in front of Philadelphia for fourth place in the Eastern Conference. The Magic visit Atlanta on Tuesday before hosting Miami on Wednesday. The Sixers complete the regular season at Indiana on Wednesday. The Magic own the tie-breaker over the Sixers.

Forward Jud Buechler was activated from the injured list to take Miller's roster spot. Buechler, who was acquired from the Phoenix Suns for Bo Outlaw and a future first-round pick on November 16. The 6-6 Buechler is averaging 1.7 points and 1.7 rebounds in 64 games this season.
