For John Starks, the final act was as frustrating as the whole two years.

Left off the Jazz's 12-man playoff roster for a postseason run that began with Saturday's 89-86 Game 1 first-round loss to Sacramento, Starks' career with the Jazz is quite likely over.

"Very disappointing," said Starks, a 36-year-old veteran who becomes a free agent in the offseason. "This is the most important time of the year. It's what players dream about."

Starks spent it sitting in suit and tie, watching from the bench as third-year-pro Quincy Lewis, stashed on the injured list for most of the past two months, played key fourth-quarter minutes.

It's a tough blow for Starks, who came to Utah as a free agent two years ago, with hopes and aspirations of playing a key role for the Jazz.
