Just one day after winning the NBA lottery for his Houston Rockets, guard Steve Francis has announced he will undergo arthroscopic surgery on his right shoulder on May 30, Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle is reporting.  Francis will also be visiting the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., for investigation of Francis' migraine-like symptoms.

"Hopefully, it will repair and clean up the shoulder joint," Jones said. "He's pretty strong in his upper body, but we want to go slow so he doesn't get any swelling.

"Surgery is always something you hope to avoid. But this many weeks past the season, he's still symptomatic. He's still in pain. Little pieces are chewed up on lining inside of the shoulder. They're going to go in and trim that stuff up."

Francis missed six games with migraine-like symptoms last season and played through many more, and he looks forward to finding a solution to his problems.

"You hear people say things about you not being mature enough to take on that challenge. I already took a step. I already know what is going on. I have to take it a step further and find a cure," Francis said. "It's going to be taken care of. ?

"I'm not stupid enough to want to walk around with headaches. For anybody to say, `This guy needs to mature,' do they think I want to walk around with headaches? ?
