Veteran point guard Mark Jackson headed to Utah on Tuesday, ready to make a new home with the Jazz.

Jackson was scheduled to take a physical exam today and, assuming there were no problems, would sign a one-year contract. He could be on the court for tonight's practice.

Jackson, traded this summer from New York to Denver, negotiated a buyout with the Nuggets to be released from his contract. The Jazz had to wait until 4 p.m. Tuesday for Jackson to clear waivers before they could move to add him to their roster.
