One of the best things about backing up John Stockton, according to Mark Jackson, is it means never having to guard him.

"I always thought Stockton and [Karl] Malone were dirty, cheap-shot artists," Jackson said with a smile after donning a Utah Jazz uniform for the first time on Wednesday. "Maybe I can learn a little of that."

He'll do it aside the only active point guard with more assists, after signing a one-year, $1-million contract with the Jazz. Jackson, 37, figures to split time with Utah's future Hall of Famer, and even occasionally team up with him in a historic backcourt. "That would be a lot of fun," Stockton said.
