NBA.com reports that the Atlanta Hawks have picked up Rod Grizzard. Per team policy, the terms of the deal have not been announced, though it is assumed he was signed to a minimum salary contract. Grizzard was a second round pick (39th overall) by the Washington Wizards. He was waived by the Wizards on October 11.

The 6-8 guard was named Honorable Mention All-America by the Associated Press and All-SEC Third Team (by AP and coaches) as a junior after averaging 14.1 points and 6.1 rebounds. Also named to the All-SEC Tournament Team and was a Wooden Award Finalist.

As a sophomore, averaged 17.0 points (2nd in the SEC) and 6.1 rebounds (17th in the SEC) en route to being named All-SEC First Team (by AP and coaches). Averaged 13.2 points while starting 24 games as a freshman. Finished his career as the Crimson Tide?s 13th all-time leading scorer, while ranking fifth in school history in three-pointers made (167) and seventh in free throw percentage (.785).
