Matt Harpring scored 13 points as the Utah Jazz held the New York Knicks to just 24 percent shooting in the first half of a 94-89 exhibition victory on Tuesday night.

Karl Malone and DeShawn Stevenson each had 12 points, and former Knick Mark Jackson had eight assists in 23 minutes for Utah (3-4), which won its second straight after losing four in a row.

Allan Houston had 17 points, including 11-of-12 shooting from the free throw line, to lead the Knicks (4-3), who turned in a sloppy effort one day after estranged teammate Latrell Sprewell criticized the organization and was suspended for not following the team's rehabilitation regimen for his broken right pinkie finger.
