In its latest effort to improve the game, the NBA will use instant replay this season. Most fans probably won't even notice it.
Unlike the NFL, there are no bulky sideline replay cameras and no dark hoods for officials to duck under. NBA coaches will not be frantically calling for a play to be reviewed. Nor will there be any awkward clock stoppages, where everybody stands around for a couple of minutes, kicking at the floor and listening to the crickets chirp while the official judges the merit of the call.
"The beauty of our game is that it's free-flowing," said Ed Rush, the NBA's director of officials. "We don't want to interrupt that."
