Utah Jazz officials proudly raised an oversized replica of Jeff Hornacek's jersey and unveiled it in the Delta Center rafters Tuesday night, retiring his number and assuring that no other player will ever wear No. 14 for the Jazz again.

Hornacek's No. 14 joins the numbers of former Jazz greats Pete Maravich (7), Darrell Griffith (35) and Mark Eaton (53) and former head coach/team president Frank Layden (1) as those who have been so honored by the franchise.

But in case you hadn't noticed, there's another number that's missing from those rafters. It's a glaring, inexplicable omission that Jazz officials must rectify someday, and the longer they wait, the more embarrassing it should become to them.

Yes, No. 4, the one worn by Adrian Dantley, belongs up there, too. And in all honesty, Dantley's No. 4 should've been hoisted in its rightful place of honor a long time ago, before those of Griffith, Eaton and Hornacek.
