Without their "head and tail," the remaining parts of the Denver Nuggets fell to the hardwood during their fifth consecutive setback, a 96-79 loss to the Utah Jazz on Wednesday night at the Pepsi Center.
The Nuggets suffered their second major loss to injury this season when they placed point guard Chris Whitney, the team's only veteran at his key position, on the injured list Wednesday because of a sprained ankle. Rookie shooting guard Predrag Savovic, who scored 11 points against Utah, was activated to replace Whitney.
The Nuggets also are without center Marcus Camby, who had hip surgery Oct. 10 and isn't expected to return until January.
How devastating is having Camby and Whitney out of the lineup?
