Were it not for Matt Harpring on Tuesday night, the Jazz might not be riding a five-game winning streak. But they are.
They probably couldn't say they've won 15 in a row now against the Los Angeles Clippers. But they have.
And they certainly would have had a much tougher time beating the Clippers ? which they did, winning 99-94 behind a career-high 30 points from Harpring and a strong final-minute finish that capped a comeback from six down in the fourth.
"It's kind of neat to win one down the stretch like this," said Jazz star Karl Malone, who chipped in 17 points and 13 rebounds for his third double-double of the season. "It was a big win for us."
With it, Utah improved to 8-7 ? and went above .500 for the first time this season.
Harpring did most of his damage in the third quarter, when he scored 19 points on 8-of-9 shooting, including 3-of-3 from three-point range. But he also was there at the end, when the Jazz, trailing 92-90, outscored the 5-10 Clippers 9-2 in the game's last 60 seconds.
