Rarely has a victory over a last-place team meant so much to the Jazz.

With a playoff intensity rocking the Delta Center much of the night, the Jazz knocked the Los Angeles Lakers into last place in the NBA's Pacific Division with a 93-85 victory.

"Everyone played well," Jazz star Karl Malone said. "It's a win that will get us back on track."

Coming on the heels of Monday's victory at the Delta Center over the Eastern Conference-leading Indiana Pacers, Utah is now 8-1 in the last nine games - making a strong case that this is the true Jazz team, not the one that started the season 3-7.
