There are some things we must endure in this lifetime that are emotionally and physically painful, terribly frustrating and, at times, downright agonizing to the soul.

Those things certainly aren't the end of the world. Far, far from it, in fact. But they sure can make life miserable when they happen to you.

Things like losing your wallet, the one with your driver's license, all your credit cards and your kids' baby pictures in it. Things like flunking a final exam after staying up all night studying for it, or having your dentist perform a root canal that takes three hours -- and it turns out to be the wrong tooth.

If you're a Utah Jazz fan, Saturday night's 98-96 loss to the Sacramento Kings was one of those painful, frustrating and agonizing experiences, too.
