The X-rays look good. It's the schedule that's a little gruesome.
Matt Harpring's ribs are not broken, a second set of X-rays determined Sunday, meaning the Jazz's second-leading scorer shouldn't miss more than another game or two while his deep bruise heals.
Trouble is, the Dallas Mavericks, owners of the league's best record, are in town tonight (7 p.m., FSN), and the NBA is not likely to let the Jazz put the game off until Harpring feels better. That means taking on the 37-9 Midwest Division leaders, the Jazz's fifth game in seven nights, without an important part of the offense.
"Sure it hurts us," said Jazz assistant coach Phil Johnson, "but we can't use it as an excuse. Lots of teams have players hurt."
