The unofficial theme of the NBA's All-Star Weekend is "Farewell to Michael Jordan."

But today's Rookie Challenge could also be Andrei Kirilenko's final appearance at the NBA's midseason party. The Jazz forward played with the rookie stars last February, and he will be in uniform with the sophomore team today (2 p.m., TNT), but from now on, he will have All-Star weekend off.

Unless . . .

"I don't know if I will be an All-Star. I would like to; that's a high level to play. We'll see," Kirilenko said Friday. "I will try. Every game, every year, every day I'm trying to be better than before. Right now I have 12, 13, 15 points in a game. Next year I want to be like a leader -- have the ball and make the team better with steals and rebounds and scoring."
