Out since tearing the anterior cruciate and medial collateral ligaments in his right knee last Dec. 12, Jazz big man Jarron Collins underwent reconstructive knee surgery Tuesday by Los Angeles Lakers team orthopedist Dr. Steve Lombardo.
Surgery to repair the ACL was delayed to allow the MCL to heal naturally.
Collins also had a partially torn meniscus; the damaged cartilage was snipped and removed during Tuesday's operation, Jazz trainer Gary Briggs said.
