The numbers did in the Utah Jazz Saturday night. Not so much the ages of their players, the culprit most suspected in their first-round NBA playoff series against the Sacramento Kings. It was the number of players the Kings can throw out on the court and do serious damage.
Not a lot of offense was needed in Game 1 of the best-of-seven series, but the Kings produced far more, particularly from their bench, enough to cover for more than a few sins. The Jazz didn't look old as much as they looked shorthanded. Jim Jackson, and Bobby Jackson led the way in the Kings' 96-90 win at Arco Arena, giving them a 1-0 lead in their best-of-seven series.
