The Cleveland Cavaliers have asked the Knicks for permission to speak with former head coach Jeff Van Gundy, according to a league source.
Cleveland is one of several teams interested in hiring Van Gundy, who is under contract with the Knicks through July 31. Van Gundy already has turned down an interview with New Orleans.
