Lakers coach Phil Jackson was released from Centinela Hospital Medical Center on Sunday morning, but doctors recommended he not coach Game 4, which began about 24 hours after Jackson's angioplasty.
Jackson, who watched the game on TV, is expected to travel with the team today to San Antonio and coach Game 5 there Tuesday night. Jackson is expected to oversee the team's practice today before the charter flight.
Jackson left assistant coach Jim Cleamons a message Saturday night with the reminder to give some thought to being the head coach, basically urging him to visualize it in case it happened. Cleamons came up with some thoughts that he jotted down before going to bed.
Cleamons then spoke to Jackson about an hour and a half before the game, discussing some of those thoughts that Cleamons had noted to himself. Cleamons was on the same page as Jackson, Cleamons said.
