The Washington Wizards are considering firing coach Doug Collins before the June 26 NBA Draft, a move prompted by the short list of quality replacements available.

"They've got a lot of decisions to make, and they don't have a lot of time to make them in," a source with knowledge of the situation said. "It's almost a certainty they will fire Doug because the new guy is going to want to put his people in place. That, and they don't have a lot of time left to get their house in order."

Paul Silas, recently fired by the New Orleans Hornets, is believed to be the available coach the Wizards covet the most.
