In a perfect world, the Nets will rebound and run and penetrate. And then run and penetrate a little bit more. But in the NBA Finals starting here tomorrow, that perfect world-view is obscured by the hulking presence of the Spurs' Tim Duncan and David Robinson on the interior.
"They've got two 7-footers. You beat one, here comes another. So you're always going to be looking at 7-feet anytime you get to the basket," said Jason Kidd.
So for the Nets to succeed, run and penetrate will have to exist with equal parts catch and shoot.
"Against this team, you've got to make shots. They pack it in pretty well," Byron Scott stressed.
