Jason Kidd made no excuses.
"There's no excuse for me personally. I didn't shoot the ball extremely well," said Kidd, who suffered an abysmal 4-of-17 shooting effort on the same floor where he was 4-of-19 in the regular season ? so make it 8-of-36 in two games at SBC Center. "That's not always what I'm known for."
Kidd did do all the other stuff he usually does ? set up people (10 assists) and rebound (8). But it was tough to get past the shooting.
"We didn't do nothing special. It was just a bad night for him," said Tony Parker, the 21-year-old Spurs point guard, who has had to live in the shadow of Kidd's impending free agency. "He missed a lot of wide open shots."
