While Chris Thomas bounced around the gated community of International Management Group Academies in Bradenton, Fla., doubts about his immediate NBA future danced about the annual pre-draft camp.

Believing that he could better showcase his skills in individual workouts, Thomas declined an invitation to attend this week's event at Moody Bible Institute.

A pair of players who plan to play point guard in the NBA -- former Boston College sharpshooter Troy Bell and Alabama sophomore Maurice Williams -- may have moved ahead of Thomas on the wish list of some teams during four days of skill drills and scrimmages at the Solheim Center.

Thomas has 12 days to determine whether to return for his junior year or remain eligible for the June 26 draft. Marty Blake, the NBA Director of Scouting, said Thursday that there should be no debate.

"I would strongly urge him to go back to Notre Dame," said Blake, who is finishing his 57th year in professional basketball. "I hope that he goes back to school."
