For most NBA prospects, relief won't come until David Stern calls their name tonight--if they're fortunate enough to be selected in the first round.
But for former Illinois forward Brian Cook, a large measure of relief came Tuesday night, when he returned home to Downstate Lincoln after working out for and meeting with 13 teams during the last few weeks.
''I feel like I've been on a nationwide tour,'' Cook said Wednesday. ''I'm glad I'm done, and I'm ready for [tonight].''
Although he figures to suffer from pre-draft anxiety like all the other prospects, Cook said he does not plan to spend much time fretting about where he'll be selected.
''I just hope that I get my name called,'' he said. ''I'm going into it with an open mind. I'm not thinking about which team is going to select me or where I'm going to go.
''I'm nervous and excited at the same time. It's kind of scary not knowing where you're going, but I'm looking forward to going wherever I'm picked.''
