There's little wonder Alvin Gentry feels a kinship with Hornets coach Tim Floyd.

Gentry last was head coach of a team -- the Los Angeles Clippers -- in transition, just as Floyd was with the Chicago Bulls. Like Floyd, Gentry coached a roster dominated by youth. Like Floyd's Bulls, Gentry's Clippers played poorly enough for him to be shown the exit door.

And, like Floyd, Gentry has resurfaced in New Orleans with a veteran, winning team to help guide and a chance to show that the losses were more attributable to circumstance and suspect front-office moves than a lack of coaching ability and knowledge.

On Monday, Gentry was introduced as Floyd's fourth and final assistant coach.
