The Jazz still don't know if their aim will hit the mark on top-target Elton Brand, and they can't be certain whether or not the Los Angeles Clippers will match their offer to shooting guard Corey Maggette.
     
They now are roughly $21 million under the NBA's newly announced $43.8 million team-payroll salary cap for the 2003-04 season, and they aren't even sure how, or if, they will be able to spend all that cash.
     
No wonder Kevin O'Connor, Utah's senior vice president of basketball operations, says, "This is going to be a long summer."
