Languishing on the bench during the playoffs was enough to put Brian Skinner in a sour mood.

Now the 6-foot-9 forward and former Philadelphia 76ers player will get his chance to do more playing than sitting, with a Milwaukee Bucks team that desperately needs a physical inside presence.

The Bucks introduced their free-agent acquisitions - Skinner, 6-3 point guard Erick Strickland and 7-1 center Daniel Santiago - during a Thursday afternoon news conference at the Cousins Center. Skinner clearly was elated to sign a three-year deal reported to be worth $5 million.

"This is a great opportunity for me to play a lot of consistent minutes," said Skinner, a five-year pro from Baylor University and a Texas native. "Of course, that's depending on me and what I do.

"Obviously, I didn't want to go to a team where you would have a Karl Malone playing in front of you. It's an upcoming team, but it's not a team that is going to be rebuilding."

The 27-year-old Skinner played in 77 regular-season games with Philadelphia last season, but his playing time dwindled after the 76ers signed veteran Tyrone Hill late in the season. During the Eastern Conference playoffs, Skinner averaged fewer than 5 minutes per game.
