The Denver Nuggets announced center Maybyner Hilario has legally changed his name to Nene (pronounced nuh-NAY). It is common in Nene's home country of Brazil for star athletes to be known by just one name. Soccer legends Pele and Ronaldo are among the examples.

Nene is scheduled to play for Brazil in the FIBA Americas Men's Olympic Qualifying Tournament from Aug. 20-31 in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
