There was a news conference at the Philadelphia Hilton yesterday to announce that the 76ers' Allen Iverson would host a youth basketball tournament in Puerto Rico.

One problem: Iverson didn't show up.

At 4 p.m. - two hours after the scheduled start of the news conference - an Iverson spokesman announced that the Sixers' star guard had been delayed in "some activities" in Atlanta, where he had filmed a Reebok commercial.

"He's been overbooked," the spokesman said.

And with that, what was left of the 30 media members departed.

Iverson was to announce that he will host the Allen Iverson 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament and Music Fest on Aug. 29 in Caguas, Puerto Rico.

As a member of the U.S. basketball team, Iverson will be in Puerto Rico at the end of the month for the Olympic regional qualifying tournament in San Juan.
