They call him The Answer, but yesterday Allen Iverson tried to sidestep one issue: his take on the Kobe Bryant situation. Iverson has been there, he said. He knows what it's like to hear the planet pass judgment.

"It's not fair for me to give my opinion because nothing's happened yet," Iverson said. "I've been in situations like that and everybody is speculating on what happened and there's a whole bunch of crazy nonsense, a whole bunch of people who weren't even there or didn't know anything about it and they're talking," Iverson said after Team USA's practice at John Jay College.

"Where I feel bad with Kobe is he's going through all that, and what if he didn't do it?

"Don't get me wrong," Iverson added. "The alleged victim - I feel sorry for her too, because she's got to go through this whole thing. And her family has to deal with it. It's just not fair."
