Is Knicks head coach Don Chaney on the way out? It sure looks like it if his team doesn't start turning things around.

"According to a source close to the team, the Knicks have had internal discussions over the past several days about making a coaching change."

Last night, New York dropped to 9-18 with their 105-99 overtime loss in Toronto to the Raptors and lost for the eighth time in 10 games.

It is said a stumbling block in firing Chaney could be his close relationship with Garden chairman James Dolan, who might block a attempt by Knicks president Scott Layden to fire him.

However, Layden did give him a vote of confidence before last night's loss.

"We've got complete faith in coach Chaney and his staff. That has not changed one bit. As you know, I think coach Chaney is doing everything he can to prepare this team to win. I'm unflappable when it comes to that. I think coach is doing everything he can to get us in the right direction."
