Charlie Ward's agent, Craig McKenzie, believes that the Knicks will move his client soon.

"We've had several conversations now," McKenzie said. "We have an idea of what Charlie desires, but a lot has to do with Isiah and getting the number down for the team. Right now, it's still very much up in the air."

A team official mentioned Portland and San Antonio as targets for a deal.

It is also possible that Ward could be cut if he isn't dealt by Jan.10 because that is the deadline for exercising a buyout clause that would allow the Knicks to release him and not have to pay the remaining $4 million owed to him this season.
