As many as a dozen teams have called the Orlando Magic front office inquiring about a trade for the No. 1 pick in the June 24 Draft.
Some teams have even thrown out top player names to entice the Magic.
Magic General Manager John Weisbrod is tempering expectations, however, saying, "Everybody is bold now."
"I've probably talked to 10 or 12 teams about the pick," Weisbrod said. "I don't think there is one team that is any more zealous than another. There's a lot of poker being played."
If they traded the top pick, the Magic would look to acquire veteran talent, in order to put pieces around Tracy McGrady and win next year, something McGrady has expressed as his strong preference.
Weisbrod also said that his discussions with McGrady?s agent Arn Tellem are ?positive? and that, contrary to published reports, McGrady has given no list of teams for which he would play.
Weisbrod agreed that Emeka Okafor and Dwight Howard are the "consensus" top choices in the Draft.
