A few days ago knicks.realgm.com broke a story that Dennis Rodman may be interested in the Knicks. Now the rumors swirling around say the original ones were started by Rodman's people themselves.

Rodman's agent Darren Prince said he and his client have spoken to Isiah Thomas, Rodman's former Detroit Pistons' teammate and Knicks' president of basketball operations, about playing on the Knicks' summer league team next month in California.

"Isiah just loves Dennis like a brother," Prince said Wednesday. "He's just trying to help him out any way that he can. That's basically it.

"It's just a waiting game. If it happens, wonderful. If it doesn't, we'll move on."

Rodman may have no choice. His talks with the Knicks never reached the serious stages, sources close to the team said.

"I'm pretty positive he's not coming," said a person with ties to the Knicks.
