First-year Toronto Raptors head coach Sam Mitchell announced additions to his coaching staff today, completing a huge Raptors front office and coaching shakeup since the end of the regular season.

Mitchell retained longtime Raptors assistant coach Jay Triano, who also serves as the head coach of Canada's national team. Triano will be working under his third boss with Toronto, having also served on the staffs of former Raptor coaches Lenny Wilkens and Kevin O'Neill.

Mitchell also named new Raptors director of player development Alex English to his staff as an assistant coach. English, who served as an assistant coach for the Philadelphia 76ers last season under Randy Ayers and Chris Ford, brings an accomplished playing career with the Denver Nuggets to the table. English also served as an assistant coach with the Atlanta Hawks under Lon Kruger and Terry Stotts for two seasons.

Jim Todd was named the lead assistant coach on the staff.  Todd, a former Los Angeles Clippers interim head coach, has also held positions as a Clippers assistant coach and two stints as a Milwaukee Bucks assistant coach. His most recent stint in Milwaukee also held him responsible for player development.

New Raptors general manager Rob Babcock rounded out his scouting staff by naming Mike Evans a scout. Evans, a former Nuggets interim head coach, also has extensive experience as a Nuggets assistant coach and director of player personnel.

The Raptors fired veteran scouts Craig Neal, Walker D. Russell and Randy Wilkens earlier this week. Neal and Russell had served as assistant coaches to Lenny Wilkens in the past, while Randy Wilkens is Lenny Wilkens' son.
