Seton Hall point guard Andre Barrett led his Pirates to a first-round upset in the NCAA Tournament but it didn't seem to matter in the Draft.
"I'm definitely upset," Barrett said. "At every level, I've accomplished great deeds that guys taller than me haven't. For them to question that and continue to question it, it's more motivation for myself.
"I don't understand. It's a big question all the time when I've constantly, on every level, been one of the top players. Why couldn't I be now? I've always proved everybody wrong. The height issue shouldn't even be an issue. Talent overrides a lot of things, and heart has to do with it as well."
It seems to be a consensus opinion that Barrett went undrafted because of his small stature.
Knick president Isiah Thomas liked the point guard during their pre-draft workout but passed on him at No. 43 for athletic, 6'7" UCLA small forward Trevor Ariza.
Still, teams had interest and got in touch with Barrett after the Draft to invite him to summer camp. Isiah was able to sign him up and he'll be trying to prove his game on the Knicks' summer league squad.
