Shareef Abdur-Rahim, the forgotten man in Portland, appears to be putting his hand up to becoming Kenyon Martin's replacement in New Jersey.

The New York Times is reporting that Abdur-Rahim's Agent Aaron Goodwin believes that something can be worked out between the two sides so that Abdur-Rahim can return to being the dominant player he was in both Atlanta and Vancouver.  Since being traded from the Hawks to the Blazers Abdur-Rahim's output dropped from 20.1 points per game to 10.1 behind Zach Randolph.

Portland, however, is rumored to want to hold onto Abdur-Rahim this season then use his expiring $14.6 million salary next season as trade bait.  The Blazers previously turned down the Nets' offer of Kerry Kittles and Aaron Williams.

"Honestly, it's not a good situation," Goodwin said of Abdur-Rahim in Portland. "And it's getting worse all the time. I think now that New Jersey has these draft picks that they got from Denver, I don't see why there isn't a package that can get this done."
