The New York Post's Peter Vecsey reports that as the Erick Dampier to New York deal gets 'infinitesimally close', Isiah Thomas may be obliged into woo'ing the Warriors into a deal by relieving the team of the bloated contract of Nick Van Exel, a deal which would make sense to the team who just recently signed ex-Laker Derek Fisher to a contract.

Van Exel is scheduled to make a guaranteed $25.5 million over the next two years, and with Fisher and Speedy Claxton aboard one would presume that Chris Mullin would love to rid himself of Van Exel's contract one way or another.

Other players, perhaps even Moochie Norris who the Bulls want nothing to do with, could be added until the salaries fit.

Vescey even mentions adding in Kurt Thomas into the deal with Van Exel being reunited with Mark Cuban in Dallas after Steve Nash bolted, with Antoine Walker and Dampier arriving in the big apple.
