Without a clear top player, this year's class of high school seniors are jockeying heavily for that lauded position of best prep in the nation.

A familiar name is amongst the leaders, Brandon Rush.  Rush is the younger brother of Kareem Rush of the Lakers, and also JaRon.  Brandon Rush was supposed to be a member of the 2004 class, but decided to attend a prep school for academic purposes.

The top two players are named Williams, Louis and Shane.

Louis Williams is a 6-1 shooting guard from Georgia.  He is one of the most prolific scorers the state has ever seen and has verbally committed to Georgia.

Shane Williams didn't play at all last season and acquired some rust ? and extra weight ? in the process, but by the end of the summer he had shed pounds and more closely resembled the stellar performer he was in 2003.  He, like Rush, is currently attending a prep school.

The attention that these players are garnering from NBA scouts is actually preventing top colleges from recruiting them too heavily, as most experts expect them to jump directly to the NBA draft.
