The Sacramento Kings won for the first time at Madison Square Garden in nine years, beating the Knicks 105-98.
Maurice Evans came off the bench and scored 16 points for the Kings.
"I'll tell you what, though," Webber said. "Over the first two days of working out, I saw his effort and his strength, and I said 'That guy is going to be really, really good. He's going to be a force to be reckoned with.'"
Knicks F Michael Sweetney sprained his right ankle in the first half. X-rays were negative, but he did not return.
