In the aftermath of the NHL canceling their season, Billy Hunter and David Stern feel that the NBA will not come to a similar problem. Hunter feels that it is possible that an agreement will be reached before the end of the season.  

While the players' union is still opposed to David Stern's suggestion of an age limit, the luxury tax and length of contracts seem to be the key areas of discussion.
