The Dallas Mavericks announced today that center Erick Dampier has been added to the active roster. This news coming just in time for the Mavs push to move deep into the upcoming playoffs.

"He's on a minute restriction," Mavs coach Avery Johnson said. "He won't play any more than 20 minutes, probably for about a week."

Dampier is averaging 9.5 points and 8.7 rebounds this season and has been missed down low.

"The team has been playing well and I'm eager to get out there," Dampier said. "I want to pick up where I left off."

To make room for Dampier the Mavericks have placed Pavel Podlkolzin on the injured list.
