The Miami HEAT?s Shaquille O?Neal and the Minnesota Timberwolves? Kevin Garnett today were named Eastern Conference and Western Conference Players of the Month, respectively, for games played during the month of March.

O?Neal helped the HEAT to a 12-3 record, averaging 23.5 points on .591 shooting, 10.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 2.1 blocks.  He led his team in rebounds and blocks and placed second in scoring.  He ranks second in the league and first in the Eastern Conference in field goal percentage and he recorded eight double-doubles for the month.

Garnett led his team to a 10-5 record, their best month of the season.  He is the league leader in double-doubles (14-of-15 for the month) and in rebounds (13.7 rpg).  He averaged 23.5 points on .502 shooting and added 5.4 assists per game.  He scored 30 or more points in three games and helped the team close the month on a five-game winning streak
