With 10 games left, the Nets are starting to distance themselves from the other bottom teams in the East in an attempt to gain that 8th and final playoff spot.

Tonight versus the Knicks they have a chance to get revenge against their cross-town foe as well as move up another notch in the playoff race.  A win tomorrow versus the 8th seed Magic would be even sweeter and with Chris Webber of Philadelphia out for 7-10 days, the Nets chances seem even better.

"If we win two games, we're right there," Carter said. "I just hope we're able to focus and play our style, and do what we do and worry about ourselves instead of who we're playing and how well they're playing and everything else. If we're not playing our style of basketball, our best basketball, we're not going to win anyway."
